Deze UV-C heeft een aantal nuttige functies. De transparante schroefdop zorgt ervoor dat u het PL UV-C-lamp veilig kunt controleren door uw ogen te blokkeren tegen schadelijke UV-C straling. Voor uw veiligheid is de ballast uitgerust met een speciale uitschakelfunctie. Wanneer u het UV-C lamp vervangt, zal de ballast automatisch uitschakelen als de lamp is verwijderd.
De PL UV-C lamp is verder verbeterd, zodat zowel de effectieve lichtopbrengst als de levensduur ervan met ongeveer 30% is verhoogd in vergelijking met eerdere modellen. Het toestel wordt gebruikt met een filtratiesysteem, dat een apart compartiment heeft, wat betekent dat de UV-C-straling niet in contact komt met het filtermateriaal. Om de effectiviteit van deze UV-C-eenheid te behouden, dient het kwartglas ten minste 3 keer per jaar te worden gereinigd.
