Geschikt voor het boren in alle soorten materialen zoals Beton, Steen met een daarvoor geschikt diamantboormachine met een slipkoppeling en wateraansluiting. De segmenten zijn geheel op te gebruiken tot op de buis. Doorgaans zal het materiaal waarin geboort wordt, de diamantboor automatisch opscherpen tijdens het boren. De kans dat de segmenten verglazen is altijd aanwezig bij het boren in hard materiaal. Daarom dient men regelmatig de boren op te scherpen door even te boren in een opscherpsteen.
