Witte leeuwen, zoals de leeuwenmoeder met haar jongen van schleich® Wild Life, zijn heel zeldzaam en daarom ook zo bijzonder. Witte leeuwen kunnen in hun vel en haren geen kleurstoffen aanmaken. Toch zijn zij, net als de leeuwenmoeder en haar jongen van schleich® Wild Life, geen albino's omdat zij niet de typische rode ogen hebben. In het wild delen de roofkatten hetzelfde leefgebied met de andere Afrikaanse leeuwen. Zij leven in de savanne, droge bossen en steppen. Daar maken zij jacht op antilopen, gazelles, gnoes, buffels en zebra's.
