De miereneter van de schleich® WILD LIFE themawereld leeft in de savannes en grasgebieden van Midden- en Zuid-Amerika. Het zoogdier voedt zich vooral met mieren en termieten. Om die uit hun nest te halen, boort de miereneter zijn lange snuit in het nest en steekt zijn 60 cm lange, kleverige tong naar binnen. De insecten blijven dan aan zijn tong hangen. Miereneters hebben bovendien een borstelige staart, die er door de lange haren groter uitziet dan hij in werkelijkheid is.
