De Dilophosaurus is gemakkelijk te herkennen aan de twee kenmerkende kammen op zijn kop. Ze zijn felrood en al van ver te zien. Op zijn lange rug siert een vuurrode kuif tot aan het puntje van zijn staart. Zijn prachtige hagedissenhuid heeft een blauwachtige kleur op zijn rug en poten. Dat ziet er geweldig uit!Met een gewicht van slechts 500 kilo is de Dilophosaurus bijna een lichtgewicht vergeleken met de andere dinosaurussen. Maar je moet hem niet onderschatten. De carnivoor is een echt roofdier en verplettert vissen of kleinere dinosaurussen als pinda's tussen zijn sterke slagtanden. Omdat hij zulke sterke achterpoten heeft, kan hij heel goed rennen en haalt hij zijn prooi gemakkelijk in tijdens de jacht. Het is beter om niet bij hem in de buurt te komen.
