New Era became part of the baseball world in 1934 when the company made caps for the Cleveland Indians. The more customers the company had, the greater the determination to create the best product on the field. In 1954 someone had a brilliant idea, and the 59FIFTY was designed that same year. Harold Koch, the son of New Era founder Ehrhardt, redesigned the matching cap to give it a more contemporary, structured look. Thus the real "fitted" cap was born!
