Gebruik een schroeventang om schroeven los te maken en los te draaien met een beschadigd kopprofiel die niet losgemaakt kunnen worden met standaard gereedschap. Schade aan het schroefprofiel ontstaat meestal als schroeven vastzitten door verlijming of corrosie en standaard gereedschaps het profiel heeft beschadigd. De tang heeft horizontale en ook verticale tanden, die de schroef bij de buitendiameter van de kop grijpen. De tanden zijn sterk en erg scherp en bieden een uitstekende grip op de schroefkop, ongeacht het profiel.
