Warriors of Virtue II: The Return to Tao is het vervolg op de originele film uit 1997. Een aantal jaar is voorbij gegaan en er verschijnt een nieuwe schurk ten tonele genaamd "Dogon". Hij heeft Tao volledig in zijn macht gekregen. Kort nadat Ryan (nu 18 jaar) en zijn beste vriend Chucky bij een martial arts wedstrijd in Peking, China, arriveren, komen zij in de parallelle wereld het "Land van Tao" terecht. Hier worden zij herenigd met The Roos/Warriors (die nu als humanoids verschijnen) om samen te strijden tegen Dogon. Ryan beseft niet dat het geen toeval is dat hij opnieuw in Toa wordt ontboden. Hij en zijn vrienden zijn namelijk uitverkorenen, zij zijn de volgende "Warriors of Virtue".
