Maar als de managers van de Hemel, allen depressief en vol angst, op het punt staan om op te geven, ontvangen ze een verzoek: een moeder vraagt hen om de ziel van haar zoon, een bokser met een turbulent verleden, te redden. De hemelmanagers gebruiken deze laatste gelegenheid om hun talentvolle engel, Lola Nevado naar de Aarde te sturen. Zij zal in de huid van de bokser kruipen om zo zijn ziel te redden. Maar lola's aanwezigheid op de Aarde blijft niet onopgemerkt en de Hel besluit de ervaren agent Carmen Ramos eropaf te sturen.
