Mission to Mir werd gefilmd in IMAX en wereldwijd vertoond in IMAX-bioscopen. Deze videoversie werd digitaal gemasterd van de originele 70 MM pellicule en het geluid werd speciaal gemixt en gemasterd om een hoogkwalitatieve Dolby Surround soundtrack te bekomen.
