In Friesland ontmoet hij zijn gabber Bodde (Piet Romer) weer, met wie hij tien jaar geleden staden land onveilig maakte onder het motto: 'lachen,lachen, lachen'. Tim zwicht voor Bodde's voorstel om samen aan de zwier te gaan.Hun zwerftocht voert ze van de Friese veemarkten tot een Limburgse pastorie waar ze een partijtje heiligen beelden van de hand doen. Onderweg ontmoeten ze Aafke, met wie Tim een romance beleeft en het oplichtersduo Kwint en Dolores. Het wordt een dolle boel, maar uiteindelijk komt Tim tot de conclusie dat zijn plaats toch is bij Jet en de kinderen.
