Met de Edge crankafnemer zelf eenvoudig de crankbout en crank (waaraan de pedalen zijn gemonteerd) van de fiets te halen of monteren. Verwijder eerst de borgmoer uit de crank. Draai hierna de cranktrekker voorzichtig in de crankarm om beschadiging van het schroefdraad te voorkomen. Draai vervolgens de binnenste bout van de crank met een steeksleutel richting de trapas. De crank komt zo geleidelijk los van de trapas.
