De notenkraker heeft een schroefsysteem: zuiver en moeiteloos kraken van noten door aan de paddenstoelenhoed te draaien zonder de vrucht te verpletteren; plaats de noot in de paddenstoelvormige behuizing waarin de gebroken schaal wordt opgevangen.
