De sterkste volwassen mannetjes, stieren genoemd, zetten territoria op in goede weidegebieden. Ze patrouilleren voortdurend, moedigen vrouwen aan om binnen te komen en dagen andere mannen uit. Een uitdaging begint met elkaar omcirkelen, de grond klauwen en staarten vastsjorren. Het eindigt wanneer de stieren op hun knieën vallen en de hoorns op elkaar klikken. Vanaf daar is het een duwwedstrijd en wint de sterkste antilope. Afmetingen: 11 x 3 x 10,5 centimeter.
