Aziatische olifanten hebben kleinere, ronde oren. Olifantenoren stralen warmte uit om deze grote dieren koel te houden, maar soms is de Afrikaanse hitte teveel. Olifanten zijn dol op water en vinden het heerlijk om te douchen door water in hun slurf te zuigen en het over zich heen te spuiten.
