Gebruikmakend van deductief redeneren en logica, moet de "decoder" de "geheime code" die door de andere speler is verzonnen, in het minste aantal pogingen breken. Vervolgens is de eerste speler aan de beurt om een zo complex mogelijke combinatie van kleuren te maken, zodat deze niet kan worden gedecodeerd. De bijgevoegde geïllustreerde folders tonen de verschillende moeilijkheidsgraden van de geheime code, die uit 4 of 5 posities kan bestaan, met gebruik van de 8 beschikbare kleuren.
