LOCTITE® 5188 is een zeer flexibel afdichtingsmiddel dat uithardt bij afwezigheid van lucht en ingesloten tussen nauwsluitende metalen oppervlakken. Het is ontwikkeld voor gebruik op stijve metalen flensverbindingen, in het bijzonder waar lichte olievervuiling van de flensoppervlakken kan optreden. Het product is zeer geschikt voor gebruik op aluminium substraten waar een zeer goede hechting vereist is. Het zorgt voor een onmiddellijke afdichting met lage druk. Voor het afdichten van stijve flensvlakken op versnellingsbakken en motorcarters.
