Waar rechte scharen al snel happen in de vacht geven, geeft de dubbelzijdig getande schaar een natuurlijker effect. Effileerscharen worden vooral gebruikt voor het uitdunnen van de vacht. De kunststof grip zorgt ervoor dat de schaar gemakkelijk te hanteren is.
Er wordt geadviseerd om de schaar alleen te gebruiken op een schone vacht. Door het getande blad blijft vuil gemakkelijk achter op de schaar. Reinig de schaar dan ook na het knippen, je kunt hiervoor bijvoorbeeld Acticid gebruiken. Dit product reinigt en ontsmet de schaar en beschermt tegen schimmels en bacteriën.
Let op! Absoluut geen chloor gebruiken om de scharen schoon te maken, dit versterkt roesten.
